Lucia-Master Stylist/Owner
As a young girl, I always knew what I wanted to be "when I grew up." Hair had always been my passion. I graduated from Blaine Hair and Beauty School in May 1990, and began my career as a stylist at The Salon A Cut Above. Little did I know at that time, that 4 years later, that same salon would belong to my husband and myself. I enjoyed being in a field where I could make people look and feel better about themselves. I can truly say that, " I love what I do." Always striving to better myself and perfect my skills, ongoing education was key. I've trained extensively with Goldwell Haircolor, and also attended classes in hair-cutting, Paul Mitchell hair sculpting and styling, perming, skincare and make-up...And the Beauty Expo's are always a fun place to "be inspired" in. You could say that I'm knowledgeable in all aspects of the beauty industry, with my specialty being "hair." After 20 years experience as a licensed cosmetologist, I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to make a difference in our community. We have wonderful staff, and are especially thankful for the long-term friendships that we've formed, with them, and with our clients, over the years.
Paul-Master Stylist/Colorist/Owner
Coming from generations of hairstylists. I can basically say that I grew up in the hair industry. My memories date far back, as a young child, apprenticing in my father's barber shop in Italy. I moved to America when I was 8 years old. I graduated from Quincy Beauty Academy in 1990, and my wife and I took over The Salon A Cut Above in 1994. I continued my education with Framesi and Goldwell Haircolor. My expertise is in designer cuts and styles for men and women, and formulating color shades to compliment your features and your lifestyle. So, whether you are looking to make your own personal expression, or simply looking to cover grey, I can achieve whatever effect you are looking for with multi-dimentional foil techniques, one process color, or semi-permanent Colorance. And if you have had a "bad color experience", that's in need of repair, corrective color is my specialty. We invite you to join us, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and meet a group of very creative and unique Hairstylists, Skin and Nail specialists, Make-up Artists, and licensed Massage Therapists.

Bringing 14 years of dedicated service to our salon. A "friendly and outgoing" stylist with a very loyal customer following. He specializes in Goldwell Color, foil highlighting, corrective color, perms, clipper cutting, formal styling & updo's. *Ira is fluent in Spanish
Sue-Master Stylist
A graduate of Wilford Beauty Academy with 22 years experience. Sue has been a part of the A Cut Above team, since 1995. She is an exceptionally skilled stylist, specializing in all phases of hair-cutting & styling for men and women. She also provides facial waxing services. *Sue is fluent in Armenian
Kim-Design Stylist/Skin & Nailcare Specialist
A graduate of Mansfield Beauty Academy with 16 years experience in hair, skin and nails. She has been a part of our team, since 1999. She continued her education with Goldwell Color, advanced cutting, and skincare classes. Kim specializes in all "the latest" cutting techniques, including point cutting, dry cutting and texturizing, all facials, waxing, and our "hands and feet" services.
Brittany-Design Stylist/Nailcare Specialist/Make-up Artist
A graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational School with 8 years experience. Brittany joined our team in 2003, with an enthusiastic attitude and exciting new ideas for us. She is a certified colorist with advanced training in Goldwell Color and foiling techniques. Brittany specializes in designer haircuts, color, make-up, waxing, and our "hands & feet" services.
Alyssa-Design Stylist/Nail Specialist/Make-up Artist/Massage Therapist
A graduate of Minuteman Regional High School Cosmetology program. Alyssa is a talented & friendly stylist who recently joined the team this year. She provides a broad range of services, including creative haircuts & styles for men, women & children, color, foiling, perms, & "natural" manicure/pedicure services. Specialties include: eyebrow arching & shaping, elegant party updo's, and "special effect" & corrective make-up to accent the attractive features of your face. She is also experienced with long, thick hair. Massage Alyssa is also a graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. As a massage therapist, Alyssa has a professional & knowledgeable approach to Swedish, Deep Tissue & Hot Stone Massage.
Gerlinde-Master Stylist
Looking for Gerlinde? The previous owner of Village Stylist (of 37 years) has joined the A Cut Above team. She specializes in the "lost art" of setting hair (including pincurls & roller setting), color, perms, hair cutting and styling. She has trained extensively with "Sexy Hair" and continues to attend their classes every Spring & Fall! *Gerlinde is fluent in German
Darlene-Desk Manager/Receptionist
Since 2000, Darlene has been there to greet you each morning. You will feel the atmosphere from the moment you walk in, with her warm smile and friendly customer service. We are so thankful for all her hard work and dedication over the years.
